Parking Spot Size ATC Warning

Okay, so we’ve all seen that one guy who parks on the GA ramp in a 747 just to be closer to the taxiway, and I’ll admit that back in my TS days I was guilty of this, but it annoys me to see this on the Expert Server. Currently, there is no ATC command warning people that this is not okay, so I think there should be. It isn’t fair when you’re trying to be realistic, so you park at the appropriate gate only to have a 30-minute taxi because people spawned closer to the runway than you. I think there should be a simple ATC command in the miscellaneous category that goes along the lines of ‘Parking spot is not appropriate for aircraft size’ or something like that. I think it is a pretty simple and logical request, please let me know what you all think below :)

Edit: I don’t mean I expect you to research the airport and see which aircraft fit where, just use common sense and park your commercial aircraft at the gate and not the GA ramp ;)

I like this idea… Too bad i’m out of votes.

Ok? You wanted to be ‘realistic’ so you chose to have the longer taxi route. What does it matter where other people park?

Because it’s the expert server. There is a certain amount of professionalism expected and as I said, parking an A380 on a GA ramp is not realistic. When was the last time you taxied for 30 minutes in real life? If you have had that happen to you it’s likely because there was a delay at the gate, but the beauty of a simulator is that you get to skip that part.

I’m good, I like my short taxi times, gives me time to worry about the actual important things of flying such as flight planning and so on

Well my main issue is if it interferes with people being realistic, which I’d hope people strive for…

Well, I can reallistically taxi for 5 min

If you park in the right gate for your aircraft/airline taxi times are short, if you park right next to the runway and basically cut the line of people waiting to take off you have a bit of a shorter taxi time, but you make others have a long taxi time. Don’t know if you in particular do this but I hope not…

Na, I’ll go to the end of the line. But if it’s not busy, you best believe I’m spawning as close to the runway as I can

Fair enough lol, I have no problem with that. (As long as you aren’t bugging people)

You are exactly the problem he is trying to elminate here.

@Darpan ^^

Look at the thing in parenthesis. That’s the thing. I meant to say you can park close to the runway but don’t cut in line or spawn in a stand that isn’t appropriate.

Tbh, it isn’t acceptable to knowingly spawn at a ramp that isn’t intended for your aircraft type. It is unprofessional and inconsiderate to those who are actually trying to fly a GA aircraft, as your Airbus a380, believe it or not, takes up about 10 GA spaces.

Well, I don’t use the A380 so…

Ok but still, any aircraft from an ERJ to the 748, it is unnaceptable to spawn at a GA ramp. Especially so since the GA ramps are labeled.

I know it’s a GA ramp, I’d just not rather waste 5 min taxiing around for no reason. It’s not like I’m cutting anyone off.

If you know It’s a GA ramp why spawn there? When you can spawn at the intended ramp instead. And the 5 minutes taxing around isn’t that difficult. Just out of courtesy, your not supposed to spawn at GA ramps with non GA aircraft. It’ll get you ghosted one day.

Guys this is off topic. If you would like to continue your discussion please do so in a PM. Thanks.

Off topic? Discussing spawning on a post about spawn locations? Hardly
