Could do with a bit of advice here, 20 mins into my flight from Heathrow to JFK, I’m cruising at 40,000ft but apparently I’m ‘over speeding’ at 250kts airspeed. How do I increase my speed without this appearing?
Air speed decreases as you climb. Your speed above 28,000ft it measured in Mach. Ideally you don’t want to go over 0.85 at all. You’re still cruising at the correct speed, your ground speed would be similar whether travelling at 320knts IAS at 26,000ft or 250knts IAS at 40,000ft.
Okay cheers mate
