I was making a flight from San Juan to Houston. FL360 / Mach 0.88 / Boeing 787-8. I had walked away from my IPad for a several minutes to do something in the kitchen. When I come back the overspeed alarm is sounding, overspeed limits had disappeared, and I was disconnected from the live server. I was still below the overspeed limit, which is around Mach 0.91 for the 787-8. I tried reducing my velocity to Mach 0.55 but the overspeed kept alarming. Confused, I checked to see if any violations had occurred. I look and I had gone from grade 3 to grade 1, with 6 violations, mid flight. I quickly exited the flight to keep from adding any more violations. Now I cannot even fly on the expert sever due to an error incurred by the game, not by me. What gives??? How can these false violations be reversed and stricken from my record?
That’s too fast on the B788.
System violations are 99.999% right.
You did say you were flying at 0.91M, which is over the speed limit.
When you say “I tried reducing to 0.55M” you probably changed the autopilot to this. this doesn’t mean the warning will go away. Your speed won’t decrease in a second.
Actually, I beleive the max Mach speed for the 787 is .9… Still .88 is too fast for cruising but shouldn’t give you violations. What were the winds like?
@DiamondGaming4 You are incorrect. You should never go faster than .84 in a 787. Mach .83 Mach .84 is the normal cruising speed for the 787.
@evolizzee Unfortunately you were over speeding. If you have strong tailwinds I advise traveling slower. I usually don’t go much faster than .83 in a 787, however .84 is fine also if you don’t have a strong tailwind.
Even after the aircraft slowed to Mach 0.55, at FL360, the alarm was still sounding, and apparently adding violations. I flown at Mach 0.88 several times, with head and tail winds, and this has never happened.
It’s just odd to see the red overspeed thresh hold bars completely disappear and for the alarm to continuously sound even after slowed velocity to a ridiculously slow speed. Normally, if I accidentally go into the overspeed threshold, it will alarm until I slow down enough.
No, I had been cruising at altitude for almost two hours at FL360 / Mach 0.88. I left San Juan and was already past Key West, towards IAH when this happened. I took off, knowing I had a limited amount of time to be on the game. Ran into a mis-calculated head wind. Windy.com didnt really show a better altitude to cruise at so I just adjusted the speed about 20min after I reached FL360
Your flight was a 1hrs and 8 minutes long… not close to 2hrs.
Based on the data I’m able too retrieve right now, you were almost at 600kts before reaching cruise altitude. Somewhere around FL280-300 you were at your highest speed.
And I can’t see you were ever close to M.55 as you are saying.
If you are reviewing my flight, stop knit picking it and tell me when exactly I was violating the overspeed rule? Surely, if you have the ability to review my flight data, you can tell me, at what point my aircraft and autopilot settings were in violation of rules to dictate 6 violations? And I was drastically reducing speed to see why the overspeed alarm was sounding… Heck, at one point, I was trying to both, reduce speed and altitude… show me exactly when, where, and why I was violating game rules, and I will shut up and accept the fact that when I walked away from the game I let my speed go out of range…until then, I feel that the game glitched up, as it happens many of times.
I can’t stay watching my screen 100% of the flight time. I would have to have absolutely no life to do so, and I understand that things can go bad or change during those times away from the screen. But this was way different than what I’ve experienced in the past
The app does not log your A/P settings. I am currently viewing this through the Connect API which is a different story.
I am not knit picking, i’m looking at what was sent via the API and comparing it to what you are saying in effort to help you clear things up. But there are obviously some discrepancies here…
I’ve already sent a request for your recent violations and will reply to you with more information regarding those.
