Today we’re flying on the latest generation of Evergreen’s fleet- the 787X, the pencilliner. 
We arrived at Taipei Taoyuan at 3:30PM, after having a delicious lunch at Dadaocheng Luroufan. Check-in was smooth and fast, and we were able to have a comfortable rest in the viewing gallery before our flight.
We boarded at 6:20. EVA Air’s long-haul hard product is amazing- comfortable seats with a great recline angle, plush padding, and a large, responsive IFE screen. Glad we had the opportunity to fly this plane.
Light rocket takeoff today, we were way below MLW with only 2h of fuel even with full passenger load.
Climbing out of Taiwan
We were served a hot meal, consisting of stewed, flaky fish with rice and stir-fried veggies, served with a typical airplane bun with butter, and a small slice of chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was really flavourful and not extremely heavy on the stomach- this was one of my best short-haul economy class experiences of all time.

Parked at the gate. This was one of my best short-haul economy flights, right up there with the Japan Airlines CTS-HND we flew way back in ‘92 on a family skiing trip. Better not get too deep into sentimental old man reminiscing… Food was top tier, seat was great, and the cabin crew were famously warm and friendly. Clear 11/10 for EVA Air, they shattered expectations with this one 
We’re spending 5 days in Hong Kong, exploring the city and checking out must-sees and must-dos, like taking the steep Peak Tram to Victoria Peak, riding the iconic Star Ferry across Victoria Harbour, visiting the Big Buddha on Lantau Island, exploring vibrant street markets in Mong Kok, and dining on world-class dim sum. These 5 days will be incredible, and we look forward to sharing them with you. Thank you, and see you in the next one.
