About the Airport

San Francisco International Airport (IATA: SFO , ICAO: KSFO , FAA LID: SFO ) is an international airport 13 miles (21 km) south of downtown San Francisco, California, United States, near Millbrae and San Bruno in unincorporated San Mateo County.[4] It has flights to points throughout North America and is a major gateway to Europe and Asia.

SFO is the largest airport in Northern California and the second-busiest in California and on the Western Coast of North America, after Los Angeles International Airport. In 2017, it was the seventh-busiest airport in the United States and the 24th-busiest in the world by passenger count.[5] It is the fifth-largest hub for United Airlines and functions as United’s primary transpacific gateway. It also serves as a secondary hub for Alaska Airlines. It is a major maintenance hub for United Airlines, and houses the Louis A. Turpen Aviation Museum and Library.

Hello everyone and welcome to my second event ever at San Francisco Airport!

The airport is probably the one I fly out of/to the most! Almost every time I visit, or look on FlightRadar24, I see the huge lines for departure. So help me make this airport even more popular! The airport is 1 of the top 25 busiest airports in the world and continues to grow in terms of passenger traffic every year! The airport is a hub for United Airlines and a focus city for Alaska Airlines. From Dubai to Santa Barbara, the airport serves many international, long haul flights, to short haul, domestic flights.

Notams

1. Please spawn in at your assigned gate around 5-10 minutes before scheduled departure time
2. Do not pushback at the same time as the person next to you! Wait until he/she is taxiing and at a safe distance
3. You will be responsible for any violations you receive
4. If you need help with creating a flight plan or fuel planning, click here
5. All pushback procedures and runways in use will be announced in a PM the day before the event (Hopefully)

If you want a gate that is not on the list, but for an airline or destination from San Francisco, just check if it is a real route and tell me! I can change a gate so long as it corresponds with the real one! You can find these routes here or here! Please also note for all United and Alaska Gates: Due to the many destinations served by the airline from San Francisco, you may choose where to fly unless it already has a destination and not all gates are realistic due to the limited number of gates! Also, when requesting a gate, just let me know your callsign, the aircraft you will use. Special liveries are allowed but you must let me know before you fly one to prevent confusion

Not sure if you can make it to the event, or do you fly to a destination that is taken? Just let me know and I will add you to the StandBy Gates! Let me know what gate you want and I will add you!

#16

Hi. May I take gate 101 at Terminal 3G. Flight will be a Lufthansa A380 to Frankfurt. Thx

#17

Lufthansa recently changed their A380 base, and the flight to Frankfurt is now operated by an A346! Would you be fine with that ? I will put you down as that for now for realism
Also, I have put you in a gate that can accommodate the A346 nicely instead of the one that would end up being cramped for pushback.

Hope you understand! If you really would like to use the A388, just let me know

Or you could just fly to Munich

#18

I know that Lufthansa has their A340s going to Frankfurt now, however by spring the A380s will be back on schedule to replace the A340s. If the routes are the same by then however, then I will go with what is most accurate.
Thx for the info and event

#19

I will put you down as the A346 and if they do end up changing it [I know they were scheduled to do that sometime in March/April], I will just change it :)

Lots of gates left for this amazing event!

#20

I will take take Gate 90 flying a 738 to KSAT. Callsign is TFC-007
