Hi guys.

Can
You please help me?

During my usual flight my plane spun into some crazy, glitch spin…

It sped to the ground, disengaging the autopilot.

No matter what I did it spun out of control…

Can you please the six Violations that it added and restore my level 4? I’m working hard to get level 5 and love the expert server. It took me back to level 1. :(.

We need more info, surely you couldn’t have just been doing nothing when this happened? Type of plane, speed and if you were doing anything would help.

Regarding the violations, I’m not sure if they can be reversed. Just wait 3 days and remember to immediately quit the game next time something like this happens to avoid getting violations.

Welcome to the community. This belongs in Support and please list your device version, model and IF version.

In terms of your actual problem - I would suggest trying to change the sensitivity of your device (go to settings then controls and then alter roll pitch or yaw). If that fails then try re-calibrating the control after disengaging autopilot as you may have move down your device during flight.

It may have been a flat spin, I’ve had that happen to me when you “spin” the rudder in both directions really fast and it is pretty hard to get out of. As for the violations, I have no idea what you should do.

Thanks for contacting support. What is your current callsign and username in-app? We have not encountered this issue. Typically some sort of user input is required to cause a spin. As others said, it is usually caused by rapid movement of the rudder or possibly another control surface. Either way, I’ll gladly have a look at your account.

You may have been in high winds on takeoff, and then on rotate the crosswind moved the aircraft. If that happened, you need to counter with the rudder.

But if it was in the air, it may be a flat spin. 🙂

If it is indeed a flat spin, normally just a hard pitch down and flaps works to get you out of one. 🙂 Trust me, I’ve done so many on purpose…

It could also be that there were gusts that the autopilot overcorrected for. I’ve had this happen only once or twice where the autopilot puts the plane out of control and the plane stalls due to high pitch up angle and falls. It was easily recoverable with a typical non-Airbus stall recovery though (pitch down, TO/GA thrust and praying to the gods of flight) so this probably wasn’t your problem.

EDITed to add:

The Airbus stall technique I was talking about involved TO/GA thrust and a slight pitch up with the stick. This however only works in Normal Law where the FBW will not allow the aircraft to enter a full stall and the increased thrust will allow the plane to fly out of it.

However, in a full stall where the plane goes into Alternate Law, the technique is as follows:

As soon as any stall indication (could be aural warning, buffet…) is recognized, apply the immediate actions :

  • NOSE DOWN PITCH CONTROL . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . APPLY
    This will reduce angle of attack
    Note: In case of lack of pitch down authority, reducing thrust may be necessary
  • BANK . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . WINGS LEVEL

• When out of stall (no longer stall indications) :

  • THRUST . . . . . . . . . . . INCREASE SMOOTHLY AS NEEDED
    Note: In case of one engine inoperative, progressively compensate the thrust asymmetry with rudder
  • SPEEDBRAKES . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . CHECK RETRACTED
  • FLIGHT PATH . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . RECOVER SMOOTHLY
    • If in clean configuration and below 20 000 feet :
  • FLAP 1 . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . SELECT
    Note: If a risk of ground contact exists, once clearly out of stall (no longer stall indications), establish smoothly a positive climb gradient.

  • Power off
  • Alerions neutral
  • Full rudder opposite of spin
  • Pitch down to break the stall
  • Regain airspeed
  • Start leveling off
  • Add power
  • Climb out

Thanks, Quinlan. Violation removal is handled on a case-by-case basis and they will not always be removed, however I have removed all six violations from April 10th. Most aircraft upsets are caused by aggressive inputs on control surfaces. Your fellow community members have provided some awesome information on aircraft recovery in those scenarios.

For the changes to take effect please do the following:

  1. Close Infinite Flight
  2. Remove from running in the background by double tapping home and swiping up (for Apple devices)
  3. Relaunch Infinite Flight
