Oshkosh 2023

Merry christmas and happy holidays everyone!

If this isn’t in the right category, I do apologize, I figured that this would be more appropriate than in the General section.

Anyway, I’m starting to look at possibly planning a trip to Oshkosh 2023! However, I’m a little confused over the various ticket options and accommodations available. Would anyone be willing to have a discussion with me (either in DM or on this thread, doesn’t matter) and hopefully answer some questions that I have?

Just a few of the questions I have are listed below

1.) On the EAA website, AirVenture 2023 is listed as being from July 24-July 30th. But those week-long tickets are only available to members?

2.) There is a weekend package available (28-30), but it is a little vague on accommodations for the weekend. It says you can stay at either Camp Scholler or camp under your wing. Do you need to bring your own camping equipment?

3.) If you are unable to to bring your own camping equipment, are there hotels nearby to stay at?

Again, I hope everyone enjoys the holidays!

  1. It does look like weeklong tickets are member only

  2. Definitely bring your own camping equipment.

  3. Hotels are nearby, though they’ll be expensive during Oshkosh week, especially as we get closer to the date. Staying 30ish minutes away is a good compromise for cost.

  2. Yes, you need to bring your own camping equipment. A further description can be found here: Camping & Lodging | EAA AirVenture Oshkosh

  3. If camping isn’t for you, lodging is an alternative: EAA Lodging | EAA AirVenture Oshkosh

So can I spend the whole week if I purchase daily tickets? or is the first three days for members only? (July 24-27)

I’m not too sure about this.

Frequently asked questions are here as reference: Frequently Asked Questions | EAA AirVenture Oshkosh

Pretty sure that the whole week is open to everyone, as long as you buy tickets

Hey I traveled from LA to Oshkosh back in 2019 for airventure. My recommendation to you is that if you really are serious about going, book your hotels or accommodations as soon as possible. Prices sky rocket. Hundreds of dollars for a Motel 6 for one night just to give you an idea. I ended up booking an Airbnb for cheaper so look for alternatives. The sooner the better. Hope it all works out for you. It was the best week of my life.

Thanks for the tip! I’m already looking at hotels and airbnbs. Finding some good prices! Hopefully I’m able to bring this all together!
