Opinion poll - 797 features

Hey everyone! Rumors have been flying around (get it? Flying? Because planes? No? Tough crowd…) about a 797, and I have been having some very interesting conversations about some things it will feature. What would you like to see in the 797, if it ever does come out?

  • Multiple decks
  • Quad (even sextuple) engines
  • Range of more than 10000 miles
  • Range of less than 10000 miles
  • More than 400 seats
  • Less than 400 seats

I don’t think a 3rd deck would be available since most airlines can barely maintain an a380 (except for Emirates).

Multiple meaning at least two, three would be absurd.

I would like the 797 to be the 757 replacement like rumors are saying. It is about time we get a 757 replacement.

Here is an idea of what it might kind of be like…

Oh well, still like I said I don’t think that a 2nd deck would be available because it takes a lot to maintain it.

That looks kinda small.

Yeah it looks small like a b737

Looks more like a CS300 to me.

I’m guessing the 797 will rival 330 and 321LR and replace the 757

Be long range but economically also to do medium haul routes.

Like a cross between 75, 76-, a 77-, and a 78-.

It’s been virtually confirmed what this aircraft would be…

Middle of the market aircraft to help bridge the gap between the 737 and 787 and help the aging 757.

So to definitively answer your questions…

Multiple decks? No. It’s not going to be a high capacity aircraft, so why push design limits for no gain.

Quad jets? No, that’s a thing of the past. It will be dual.

Range? It’s MoM, so likely not long. Definitely less than the 787, as this is to bridge the gap, so why exceed it.

Over 400 seats? Again, MoM, so 150-250 range.

I like that one better, it would be a better replacement for the 757 due to its size

Multiple decks on a 200-300 passenger jet and more than 400 passengers? 4-6 engines on the most fuel efficient plane of all time? 10,000 mile in a aircraft with range from LA-London?

Two aircraft purpose built to optimize medium haul middle of the market network.

It is to fill the gap between the 737 MAX 10 and the 787-8. It won’t have 4 or 6 engines. It won’t have multiple decks, and it will seat between 200-300 people. That is basically confirmed.

Ivthinl everyone is taking this poll too seriously…

Make it a replacement for the 757 and 767 as a mid-body jet.

Exactly what I was thinking. There’s actually a Wendover Productions video that explains this (if you can’t tell already, im hooked on these 😂)

I’m sorry but sextuple engines?

(X) Doubt
