Opinion: If you created an Airport

How many buildings are you going to demolish?

mine would be in upstate new york, and it would be a private airport owned by me, on about 15acres of land, with a nice house, and some nice big hangers :)

I think Rex would love another base! Then maybe they’d stop operating to YSSY because it is becoming too costly. And they might use one of the hangars.

I would create KMSP and import it into Infinite Flight hint hint nod nod wink wink nudge nudge

Global flight is coming. You’ll be able to fly anywhere you want hint hint

But according to that Google Earth thing, there’s only that creepy small Duluth airport in Minnesota, there’s no KMSP

Good luck finding land that is narrow and miles long

I present to you, the panhandle.

Would you buy a big square that is 20mi x 20mi? @zbelle

Wouldn’t need to even be that big.

A 30mi x .5mi section would do just fine.

Its hard to find land tracks like that

I have actually sketched a design (my own creation) of an airport layout once before. I forgot what happened to it. I should start doing that again…

In all honesty, the first thing i would do is completely redesign the layout of Detroit Metropolitan (IACA: DTW ICAO: KDTW)

I got pretty bored so I created a quick paper Airport. It’s pretty crazy.

The approach goes right over one of the gates, and I used the Kai Tak approach for this airport.

Mine would be an expansion of Durham Tees Valley Airport (MME). It would have 2 large runways and one small runway for smaller aircraft. It’s final approach routes will be the same as they are now. The airport will hold around 40 aircraft (maximum) at a time and will have 8 hangars - Comair, Jet2, Thomson, and the rest used for private jets and small aircraft.

Hubs for - Jet2, Thomson

Flights
Jet2- all aircraft to various destinations across Europe.
Thomson- all aircraft to various destinations across Europe.
British Airways- a321/a320 to London Heathrow.
CityJet- BAe 146 to Paris
Delta- b777 from Atlanta, Orlando Sanford, Los Angeles and others.
American Airlines- all aircraft to various destinations in America.
Ryanair-b737-800 to Dublin, Palma, Ibiza, Milan, Alicante and Barcelona.
Thomas Cook- a321 to several destinations across Europe.
Emirates- a380 to Dubai
Virgin Atlantic- b747 to Johannesburg, Singapore, Rio de Janeiro, Orlando and more…
Singapore Airlines- a380 to Singapore.
Eastern Airways- jetstream 41 to Aberdeen and Humberside.
Flybe- Dasn 8 Q400 to Jersey, Southampton, London City and Paris CDG
KLM Cityhopper- Fokker 70 to Amsterdam

Other occasional flights may come into this airport and is an ideal place to make emergency landings, diversions and to train. 😄😄
