mine would be in upstate new york, and it would be a private airport owned by me, on about 15acres of land, with a nice house, and some nice big hangers :)


I think Rex would love another base! Then maybe they’d stop operating to YSSY because it is becoming too costly. And they might use one of the hangars.

But according to that Google Earth thing, there’s only that creepy small Duluth airport in Minnesota, there’s no KMSP

Good luck finding land that is narrow and miles long

A 30mi x .5mi section would do just fine.

I have actually sketched a design (my own creation) of an airport layout once before. I forgot what happened to it. I should start doing that again…

In all honesty, the first thing i would do is completely redesign the layout of Detroit Metropolitan (IACA: DTW ICAO: KDTW)


I got pretty bored so I created a quick paper Airport. It’s pretty crazy.

The approach goes right over one of the gates, and I used the Kai Tak approach for this airport.

Mine would be an expansion of Durham Tees Valley Airport (MME). It would have 2 large runways and one small runway for smaller aircraft. It’s final approach routes will be the same as they are now. The airport will hold around 40 aircraft (maximum) at a time and will have 8 hangars - Comair, Jet2, Thomson, and the rest used for private jets and small aircraft.

Jet2- all aircraft to various destinations across Europe.
Thomson- all aircraft to various destinations across Europe.

CityJet- BAe 146 to Paris
