One year after taking delivery of its first A350, the Brazilian airline is planning to retire them (they have 2 in total).
The reason is due to an high operating cost of this aircraft, which is only profitable on routes of equal or greater duration to Campinas → Orly, compared to the A330-900N.
The last flight of this aircraft will be on October 2nd on the Viracopos → Orlando route.
Until October 28th, the last A350 slot is scheduled at the airport in Campinas.
Theirs 2 A350-900s will next, begin a new life with Iberia.
I assume they were probably leased right? Retires is probably also not the most accurate way to word that but fleet changes happen all the time, kinda makes sense to streamline tbh given that they have a lot more A330s than A350s so if the a330-900 can do it for them for cheaper then it’s a no brainer.
