Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 (MH370/MAS370) was a scheduled international passenger flight that disappeared on 8 March 2014 while flying from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia, to its destination, Beijing Capital International Airport in China. The aircraft has not been recovered, and the cause for the disappearance remains unknown.
As we all know, this has been a hot topic the last few years in aviation, so I would like for us all to remember the ones who died on this day after disappearing over the South China Sea.
9M-MRO was the aircraft operating the flight. It is pictured below.
Thank you for reading and let us all remember this awful and tragic day in history.
4 years and it feels like yesterday. This serves as a reminder that although we can fly anywhere within 24 hours, the planet and especially the oceans are a massive place.
It took 3 years to find the wreckage of Air France Flight 447 of the coast of brazil. And they had way more information than the search team of MH370 has.
The wreckage will be found. It will take some more time, but one day it will be found even if it happens just by accident.
It feels like yesterday since that plane went missing. Time flies.
Whenever MH370 is brought up I always get the chills, such a sad story and I dont know what more to say about it other than I feel really bad
I think its dumb to end the search for MH370 this year, we know it didnt fly to outer space, so why give up looking? Its obviously somewhere on Earth, and it should be findable.
It’s saddening to know that people are going to be giving up on the biggest aviation mystery since Amelia Earhart, but it’s whatever at this point, you just got to hope for the best.
I remember when MH17 was shot down, I was in the Army at the time and was at the clinic and saw the TV report. Just blew my mind that the Russians shot them down.
And then this, I can’t believe how fast time has gone by!
I think your approach is a little narrow minded. Searching is expensive. Like, really expensive. They have had like 4 searching rounds since the accident and covered a lot of ocean, with no results. Saying ‘it’s on Earth, so they shouldn’t stop searching’ isn’t a very insightful statement. I completely agree they should search as much as possible, but you have to understand the whole context.
