Welcome to the fourth Olympic event! This is a special one and requires lots of skill with slow and low flying and orientation. We partnered with @lollip this week, the creator of the iOS app “Infinite Pilots” We are doing something that is rather hard to explain so bear with me here. We are having three pilots compete per team in this.
We are going to have a series of set locations. The pilots job is to fly to that location in Infinite flight, then using the Infinite Pilots app and using the “Co-Pilot” feature they will need to get a screenshot of the location(s). The location will most likely be a landmark and since Infinite Pilots has 3D capability you will be judged on getting the best picture.
Rules:
- Each location is worth 4 points. The clarity of each picture and if you can get the entire location in the picture will determine if you get all 4 of those points.
- If we choose to do more than one location, it is not necessary to get all of them but of course you will get more points.
- Any plane can be used.
- All locations will be accessible in the Southern California location.
- The three pilots on each team can choose to have all three fly to different locations, or one person watches the app while the other flies. Any sort of plan as such is accepted.
- The location(s) will be announced Wednesday. You then will have all of Wednesday, and all of Thursday to get the pictures.
The location(s) will be announced closer to the event to help prevent cheating.

Okay guys this is part of what makes this event awesome…the winning team, based on their total amount of points will get the Infinite Pilots app…FOR FREE. Yes, you read it correctly! Not just the three pilots, but the ENTIRE team. You will get the app, plus the medals…unfortunately the pilots will be the ONLY people able to get the medals this week. Don’t fret, we still have two more events to go after this one!

Infinite Pilots is an app on the iOS App Store which allows you to “follow” pilots and controllers and get notified when they are flying or controlling. The app has a feature which puts you in to the right seat of the plane as a co-pilot! How cool is that?
