Old graphics engine or something else?

I used to play on a OnePlus 6T with good performance on max settings…I averaged around 30-40fps with frame rate unlocked and 25-30 with a locked frame rate to 30fps…I recently upgraded to a OnePlus 7 pro with a snapdragon 865 chipset, which is 15-25% faster than the OnePlus 6t’s chipset (Snapdragon 845). And yet I get noticeable worst performance on my newer, more powerful phone.

Why is that? Is it because the 7pro generally shows a crisper, more natural image, or because the game engine is old? I have no idea but I would am expert’s diagnosis of this problem because no matter what setting I have both devices on. The OnePlus 6t always outshines the 7pro even tho the 7pro has a faster chipset. As I said before maybe it’s because the 7pro generally gives a sharper image so it chops the fps…but I don’t know.

Below are images with both on max settings at the same airport, same time of day, same aircraft and unlocked frame rate.

Someone explain please.

I had only 34 FPS on ultra settings on my Mi9… Snapdragon 855… ;(

Try setting fps lock to 60 fps

It is probably for the same reason that the 7 pro gives a sharper image. If we look at the display specs, we can see that 6T has a 1080x2340, which amounts to around 2.53 million pixels. 7 PRO on the other hand has a 1440x3120 display, which amounts to around 4.5 million pixels. As you can see, the 7 PRO has almost twice the amount of pixels, while not having twice the horsepower. You can try reducing the display resolution to around 1080x2340 (hope my calculations were correct, if not just try something else which has 1080 on the small edge) and see if it helps
