Hello Everyone! About 2 weeks ago on September 1st I finally earned my private pilots license! I’m looking to continue on and start instrument and so on and get all my licenses. I wanted to thank Infinite Flight and its community, this was the first flight simulator that I played and I stuck with it and it grew my passion so much more for aviation and my understanding for certain topics about aviation especially knowing how to communicate with ATC. Infinite Flight has really helped me grow in aviation and I love how the sim has grown from when I first played it. I remembered when you could still purchase planes and purchase airports and multi-player wasnt a thing yet. Infinite Flight is now unrecognizable to what it was from when I first played it and every passing year it gets better and better. So I just wanted to say thank you and thank you to the community for being such a positive place to talk about aviation and the simulator! I look forward to sharing more of my Journey as a pilot and look forward to telling you all as I continue my way and try to earn my other licenses!
Here’s me passing my checkride at Herlong recreational airport in Jacksonville!
I became a licensed pilot as a teenager who had never touched a simulator. I remember at the time wishing for better ATC related learning resources (my training was at an uncontrolled airport).
With IF it seems you did it in the opposite direction (simulator first then irl), which would of course be more typical.
So your comment on the relevance of IF’s ATC environment to your training I found meaningful (as a useful irl related learning resource).
Ah I see, yes everyone learns differently and learning paths are different. I know lots of student pilots struggle with ATC but for me already having played IF it definitely made me more comfortable to talk to ATC! But hey at the end of the day what matters is we both got that license!
