Sick of flags removing your posts if they stray even slightly off topic?
Want a place to come just to chat/let off steam away from the confines of such strict regulation and constant whinging?

have to say I do get annoyed when get flagged for saying anything slightly off topic, even if it was related to the original post (for example got flagged for a discussion on A320ā€™s which changed into a discussion on training programs for BA and EasyJetā€¦both who use A320ā€™s hence why the discussion went that way!). In the real world a conversation evolves and doesnā€™t remain on the original topic, though I agree you have to be a bit more disciplined in how a forum works as its not quite a chat down the pub with your mates!

yes I read that thread. I think a lot of it is due to the wide age range of people who use this forum so the Mods do have to be careful how these things operate.

Thankyou. I would use the lounge if I could. I agree with you David. How on earth can we get to regular when Iā€™m constantly getting flagged for having a normal.run of conversation that someone gets ticked about because its off topic.

I have to stay, all banter or grouchiness aside, that this forum is one of the friendliest that Iā€™ve used in some time. Generally I think thereā€™s about the right level of moderation on here. Itā€™s not always perfect but I think the balance is pretty spot on.

How can you close something that has over a score of posts and many likes. It is specifically following its invention and is a way to stop flagging, offence or anything like that on other threads.
