    Royal Nepal Airlines
    Boeing 757-200 (9N-ACA)
    Flight time: 4h00

Royal Nepal Airlines, established in 1958, is the flag carrier of Nepal and was initially known as Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation. It began operations with a focus on connecting Nepal to international destinations. Over the years, it faced various challenges, including political instability and competition from other airlines. Despite these hurdles, the airline has adapted, modernized its fleet, and expanded its routes, striving to provide reliable service and promote tourism in Nepal.

The aircraft used on this line is none other than the iconic Boeing 757, or Pencil Jet for short.
More precisely 9N-ACA, the airline’s first to enter service in 1987, but now retired.

Named ‘Kamali’, Kamali is an important figure in Nepalese culture, often associated with the goddess of wealth, prosperity and fertility. In some parts of Nepal, she is worshipped as a protective deity.

The weather forecast is looking very mild this morning, promising a clear and impressive view of the surrounding mountainous reefs. We will also make an incredible detour above it during takeoff!

Push-back announced, lights ON. The two RR RB211 engines sing their best melodies.
“Control tower, Royal Nepal 415 taxiing to runway 20.”

अलविदा काठमाडौं !
(goodbye Kathmandu!)

It goes without saying that the most exciting part of this trip, in my opinion, is the take-off, with a direct view of the Himalayan ranges rising to over 7000m, with its highest point “Everest”, which reaches about 8,848 meters (29,029 feet) above sea level. The eternal snows remind us how old and high these mountains are. isn’t it breathtaking?

35,000 ft. Cruising altitude, flying over Rangoun.
Ranguon, also known as “Rangamati”, is a picturesque city in South of Bangladesh, located
in the Chittagong Hill Tracts region. It is famous for its natural landscapes, with lush green hills,
lakes and rivers.

As we approach Malaysia, we fly over the Gulf of Thailand and the magnificent Thai East coast.

Almost 4 hours and 5 countries later, Runway 14L of Kuala Lumpur International Airport is already showing itself, but timidly because of a lot of fog on arrival.

Butter landing as the people in the industry say!🧈
and we have already arrived!

After 4 hours of flying, over Nepal, India, Bangladesh, Burma, Thailand and Malaysia, this flight is coming to an end. For all those who love this old machine, the breathtaking landscapes but especially the very calm weather, this is an extremely interesting flight for sure!
Perhaps a bit unfortunate that Kuala Lumpur airport is not in 3D especially given its importance, nevertheless, this is a flight that I really enjoyed.

Have you flown here before? Are you interested? What was your favorite part of this trip?
