If you haven’t seen this video please check it out! It’s a really nice approach into NZQN😍.
Anyway to the topic… I’m making this topic because this video has been bugging me for a very very long time. I would like to replicate this approach in IF, but unfortunately I can’t find the approach plate. I can find the new one but it isn’t that approach (it’s the 3rd generation, I’m looking for the 2nd generation)
So I was wondering does anyone know where to find the plates or for the ones that maybe live there could you maybe draw a line on a map to show where the approach used to go please? It seems I’m not the only one looking for that on internet so you’d be helping a lot of people!😉
Thanks in advance!

I’ll ask the person who filmed this, if he answers me I’ll tell you

Thanks a lot! I watch it really often too. Plus I like the music it’s perfectly adapted to the video.

Nice video! With such a low cloud base and surrounding terrain, I’d have bailed out. Talk about a precision approach!
Do you know the name of the approach? Like which runway? I can check Navigraph
@Captain_Zen
I sent the message to who I thought was the person who filmed this and now I’m not sure if it was him, I think this one made I can not help, I’m sorry
Great find!
Scary approach with that turn into the clouds just before that mountain!
Can’t go wrong with Coldplay.

And for some extra info, I’d recommend checking out @Panther ’s topic on NZQN below :)

Located in the southern part of New Zealand. It’s known for its amazing scenic approach through the mountains.
Wait. Did I hear mountains? That must mean the approach would be hard right?
That’s definitely right! But don’t worry, this tutorial cuts all the hard stuff away from charts and gives you a easy to read, numbered step-by-step!
Follow the steps correctly, if it goes 1,2,1 … something isn’t correct. Should go 1, 2, 3…
IF has updated their waypoints around NZQN, so now it’s…
And you can find the rest of the charts here;

And in one of the recent navigation updates, almost all the waypoints/fixes for NZQN have been added so it’s a pretty awesome apprch! :)

I love developing RNP approaches. They allow me to build procedures in places that I could never develop an ILS or NPA approach into! Great video!

Thanks!
Though those are the 3rd generation ones. They’re not the ones in the video unfortunately. Still great to fly though!
That must be a really interesting job @THE-OP . Mind if I pm you about it? I’m really curious to know how it works.

Yeah I know right. Here if you want I made the departure and arrival routes for RW 05 and 23. Only the 3rd generation. That’s partly why I was looking for the second generation. It would be fun to vector someone for that approach too.

That can’t be true, because to watch it without eating or sleeping a million times would take 7.6 years😉
