Don’t feel bad, my car broke down on I-264 just one mile from Louisville Intl Airport (KSDF). 
I actually considered abandoning the car and getting an Uber, but decided risk of getting towed by the city (which is expensive) was too great.
Was scheduled into LaGuardia at 9:30am, leaving me just enough time to get from LGA to the museum – and an evening flight from EWR to SDF.
Next time… at least AA and UA issued travel credit for the unused tix.
