Yeah so on July 3rd I flew from Palm Springs to Phoenix on board American Eagle CRJ700. I watched a video a while back about it and a majority of the video was just talking about how bad the plane was. So I decided to test it out… that was not a good idea
Before I could even board the flight attendant was like “please stand here until I tell you to come in.” I stood there for 10 minutes and people behind me were getting mad.
Got to my seat and opened that window to see this. Never knew a window could be so terrible. It’s like they fogged up the window before our flight. Sat at seat 14A and was hoping the be alone but nope. Some lady sat next to me. Honestly as much as I don’t like being social she was quite cool. She gave me some gum too. Anyways I opened the window to record, don’t know why because you can’t see anything. Anyways Ms. Flight attendant waddles her way over and tells me to close it. So I did. Not sure why. I saw other people with there’s open so I just opened it again. Oh yeah and the AC in the plane wasn’t working for a good 10 mins. So here I am sitting in this little tube in 114 degree weather sweating like I just got out of the shower.
Besides all of that baloney we made it into PHX early. But only 1 slight issue. After the pilot disengaged AP the plane took a nice drop and freaked out everyone. I felt like I was being flown by an Infinite Flight user.
Note to self: Dont fly the CRJ700 ever again. If I do I must bring a parachute.
It’s not that bad, unless you’re boarding in 16 degrees and snowing. (I had to at Reagan once) I’m flying the CRJ-900 CVG-DCA on Wednesday, but the -900 is good.
I remember flying the -900 around a year ago and I don’t know why but my ears never popped from the pressure during the decent. Then one day in the shower it popped after a month me not hearing properly 💀. I’m not sure if it has anything to do with the plane but I’ve never had the same experience ever since.
You’re parked under a palm tree, so that’s a good thing…
The A/C can be quite annoying though…yesterday I was on the Edelweiss and I boarded to see that there was no A/C at all…the flight attendant said “Don’t worry, we’re regulating so the entire cabin can go to sleep.” They were so confident in that that they forced shut all the windows and locked themselves in the galley assuming that no one needed them…you already know how that turned out.
If thats the case, then yeah, thats fine, but if I as a pilot ever walk into a cockpit and see an INOP sticker next to the aircon on a 102F day, I am declaring the entire A/C INOP.
In last year I flew ORD-GRB, IRL on the CRJ-200 and it was a 25 minute flight, and right after take off the AC went out and it didn’t work for the rest of the flight, I was so freaking sweaty, probably one of my worst flights I’ve been on.
I don’t know; I actually enjoy flying the CRJ, and I am 192 cm tall. It is cramped and I cannot stand upright, sure. But compared to other planes, especially on the next-gen versions, the windows are huge. And I love that view on short-haul flights.
