"notice" for Expert Server that must be approved before flying on

Hello,

I’m writting this topic as an IFATC specialist.
I have now a few months of experience, and there’s a problem I used to meet at every control session.
Pilots doesn’t know how to communicate with ATC and that’s well known. In fact it can’t be a big problem, until it comes on busy frequencies, like today at SEA for example.

My idea, as it seems another server more professionnal would not be added, is simply to add a notice at the begining of the flight, but more complete than there is currently, that the pilots could have to put a button “I well did read and approve the rules respect” for example.

Too much times pilots come 50nm to contact tower (already too far), and just to tell they are on the ILS while far entering in RD. And it just make the frequency be busyer for nothing, and controller waste his time.

There is a screen already.

A way to make people learn the “basics” for ATC communication easily. I know however it would be difficult

Everyone skips that notice, we should add something like “Are you sure you accept” etc…

Training is different than a warning box. You can have five messages blinking in neon but you cant force people to read.

The warning is there for people who claim “I didnt know the rules”. It is stated before you start the flight.

I just dont see how this would help.

A small written psychological test when you reach expert (not each time entering a session just your first day) something like 4 questions with yes/no as answer:

  1. Should I Taxi through others if I am hurry/don’t want to wait in a long line ?

  2. Should I follow all ATC instructions even if I don’t like the instruction given?

  3. I can troll IFATC sometimes just for fun?

  4. should I spam the frequency if they don’t answer as fast as I want ?

not obligated a “warning”, maybe just something we could find differently, but this is the idea of pilots knowing that.

At least some little tick they have to press before being able to press continue… As a confirmation that they really want to fly on expert…

I don’t know about this one, I think people will just mindlessly click through every warning or checkbox you throw at them.

exact, so maybe it’s not the idea.
Just trying to find a way to make people be more logical in their communication

Or a link to tutorials may be added with an addition of confirmation that they’ve read the instructions.

In my opinion, it already says there that you need to behave professionally, if you do not, you will receive reports. Simple as. For those who do not know the rules, they have been warned that expert is for professional users only. There are tutorials here on the forum and on youtube. At the end of the day, sometime they will learn, whether that be after one report, or after several!

I do understand your frustration, and feel it too. However as @A_Plane_Guy said, they would just tick any box… it wouldn’t make much of difference

Yep I do agree. The fact is that there is no reason to report for some things even if they are not right.
It’s just the succession of little mistakes that makes waste the time. But indeed pilots that doesn’t research porofessionnalism would not believe.

I don’t want so. Just want the forum to see the problem.
