"Not Responding" after changing network in-flight

Hello everybody,
I just experienced a game that froze after replacing the original network from Wifi to the data network (4G).
I was quite disappointed because my flight failed because the game did not respond after taking the action

This messages appear after a seconds changing network from my Home Wifi to my 4G cellular data. Also i have tap the “Wait” button twice and its still not responding

Device specification:

What i do to my device before flight?
I have restarted the device , cleaning the storage cache and closing all unnecessary app.

So that’s the only problem that I conveyed, hopefully it can help to prevent this incident from reoccurring

Hello, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

Until now it hasn’t been, but if I do that it’s still happen again :(

I meant fully uninstalling it from the play store

I can try it, let me be given time to do that … but i think re-installing the app is doesn’t matter

Trust me, it helps quite a lot of the time

I really don’t think re-installation will help, this has happned to me. When ever I change my wifi to data in between it does not re connect… I did try to re-install.

I’m not saying it won’t work for you, give it a go and re-install… Let’s see what happens… ;)

I have seen simple YouTube clips failing when moving from WiFi to mobile data. Some serious network traffic re-routing needs to take place, when you move from a fixed internet connection to a mobile one. Plenty of room for error if you ask me, and I would not blame IF to much for loosing it during actions like these.

I’m interested to hear if others have successfully been able to ‘roam’ from a fixed internet connection (WiFi) to mobile data, during a flight.

Anton is correct.
Normally, it works perfectly fine changing connection source during an active session.
I’ve done it plenty of times, and it’s worked 9 out of 10 times.

But it comes with a risk, for the reasons Anton mentioned.
I’ve never heard of the app crashing due to this though, the most common thing to happen is that you are simply unable to re-establish a connection to the Live server.

I wouldn’t worry too much about this happening again or being a recurring issue, it was most likely a one time thing!
