I’m currently doing flight from Beijing Capital to New York JFK on an Air China 747-8. The flight time of approx 15 and half hours. But I loaded it with fuel for almost 17 and half hours. Still it’s showing that I’ve only got fuel for 9 hours. I don’t know what to do.
Sometimes it’s like that, I flew to Miami from Cape Town 2 weeks ago and it showed I wasn’t gonna make it even though I put enough fuel but eventually it went to normal and I made it without issue
Are you climbing or being significantly slowed down by something (wind)
Have you tried using these flight profiles? I’ve got the same issue before with B77W on flight from WIII to EHAM, only then I realized that applying maximum thrust for the whole flight isn’t beneficial. Also, if you think you have entered the right amount of fuel, it’s normal to have the fuel not enough at the beginning stage of flight (i.e., the climb) since you’re yet to reach cruising speed. Later when you cruise, it’s going to go back to normal, your fuel will soon be enough, even you’ll have to dump some before landing.
I see you now on the flight tracker. Flying directly might be the best since it’s the shortest route, but on a long haul, you need to consider the wind (Coriolis effect), latitude, airspace (if you’re trying to be realistic and avoid some airspaces). You might have set the route carefully but if you don’t consider the wind and latitude, you’ll end up encountering some strong headwinds. I suggest using SimBrief or something similar.
