Prime Minister Erna Solberg announced that from 08:00 on March 16th, all of Norway’s airports and seaports will be closed. Only those returning back to the country will be able to pass through from them.
The politician shared that the country has been overwhelmed with the impact that the spread of COVID-19 has had on it. With over 1,000 confirmed cases and two deaths of Norwegian citizens, she wants to focus even more on the fight against the virus.
Effect On Other Airlines:
Mainly Norwegian Air Shuttle will be impacted, with the US travel ban and Norway’s airports being shut down, Norwegian won’t have many place to fly to and will have to rely on their smaller subsidiary’s to help them get through this difficult time.
Widerøe will not be as effected as these airports will only be closed to international flights.
