Northrop F-5E Tiger II

The Northrop F-5E Tiger II

Hello everyone and welcome to this topic !
As I‘ve seen there is no topic for this awesome plane I thought of creating one :)
Let‘s get started !

About

After winning the International Fighter Aircraft Competition, a program aimed at providing effective low-cost fighters to American allies, in 1970, Northrop introduced the second-generation F-5E Tiger II in 1972. This upgrade included more powerful engines, larger fuel capacity, greater wing area and improved leading edge extensions for better turn rates, optional air-to-air refueling, and improved avionics including air-to-air radar. Primarily used by American allies, it remains in US service to support training exercises. It has served in a wide array of roles, being able to perform both air and ground attack duties; the type was used extensively in the Vietnam War. A total of 1,400 Tiger IIs were built before production ended in 1987. More than 3,800 F-5s and the closely related T-38 advanced trainer aircraft were produced in Hawthorne, California. Additionally, this aircraft is used by many countries in the world.

This plane is also used for airshows, not only for military operations.
Here you can see the beautiful Patrouille Suisse livery :)

That are a lot of liveries :) but it‘s good for IF

My opinion

It‘s one of my favorite fighter jet aircraft and I would definitely want to fly it in IF. You would have so much opportunities with all these liveries and I like the look of the F-5. This long fuselage and this short wings ! Perfect ✈️

Do you like it ?

  • Yess, looks good
  • Meh
  • No, ugly

Guess this has come after it was guessed on Guess the Aircraft 😂

On a serious note though, I think that it is a lovely aircraft, I love the nose.

And of course the thread is just 😍

Hey, dude!

That is such a nice request. It has liveries, and is very complete with convincing arguments.
I hope all feature requests were like this.

Oh well I thought there would be some more guys who like it …

This would be an excellent compliment to our F-14, considering this was an aggressor aircraft for TOPGUN (the actual school) and of course the unforgettable MiG-28 in the film 😉
