Today the northernmost airport was inaugurated by the President of Maldives, his excellency Ibrahim Mohamed Solih. In order for Hoarafushi Airport to be built 32 hectares of land was reclaimed. Starting today the northernmost airport in the Maldives is Hoarafushi Airport. The southernmost airport is Gan International Airport. Before Hoarafushi Airport, Hanimaadhoo International Airport was the northernmost airport. The airport has a runway of 1.2km’s and an apron of 86.35 square meters. The test flight landed at Hoarafushi on Monday the 16th of November 2020. The inaugural flight landed today the 19th of November 2020 with Governmental delegacies and the President. The airport would open more routes to sourth India and Srilanka.
Now lets hope the airport is added to Infinite Flight soon.
