In Los Angeles airspace i found this where the Notams say’s Violation are waived off in this areas. Is it true or are there any conditions (like only level 2 not level 3) or anything else?
I think this maybe means it is not allowed. The only thing I know is aerobatics at airports aren’t allowed on Expert (I don’t know about training).
What server were you on?
It says “Aerobatics in Progress”, so yes you may do Aerobatics here.
Expert server.
Usually, aerobatics near an airport would result in a level 1 violation. This NOTAM turns that off within the red circle area.
TIL we have NOTAMS in IF, I’ve definitely been checking those before each flight ![]()
Means we will still be getting level 2 and 3 violation if the aerobatic airspace is monitored by IFATC. Despite it says that violations are waived off
because there dates on it, I think it means it’s an event that’s taking place but a year sounds a bit too much for an event though, doesn’t it?
As long as the aerobatics are approved, there shouldn’t be any violations issued. The NOTAM simply removes the automatic level 1 violation, but that means that aerobatics are to be permitted. This typically happens for an event or show
BTW: I don’t remember, does the system give a warning
e.g. “Aerobatics detected..” before giving out a violation or does it give a vio directly?
With my old account I believe to remember when I was flying at German Fliegerhorst Wittmundhaven ETNT, which is a military airport, I didn’t get any vios for wild maneuvers or warnings. I thought, it was because of the military status and doing extreme maneuvers with fighter jets is normal at those.
But I don’t want to try out anymore- don’t want to risk my zero vio record ![]()
It does, but it’s also very quick to give out the violation. Some members of the Air Combat Command for GAF have figured out the perfect way to walk the line, whether that’s by certain speeds, rotations or such to keep from getting violations, so they would know better. Basically, if you’re going fast and you rotate more than 180 degrees, then you’re likely to get a violations. That’s my own understanding though, it’s been a while since I’ve tested thee waters ![]()
You would not get any aerobatic-related violations while in the airspace outlined in the NOTAM. Practically free reign what you want to do there. Speed limits for non-military aircraft do still apply. Yes, a controller could spawn there but it’s pretty unlikely, and if they do just follow their instructions to maintain the appropriate legal separation.
