No ATC communications received

Hi there,
I was just approaching Portland (HA814) which had a live ATC. I couldn’t receive the ATIS information and when I was calling inbound to the tower, I was getting no response.
I decided to leave the flight due to fear of being given a violation for not following any instructions to which I can’t hear.
Please help :pensive_face:

Hello! Sometimes ATC is editing the D-ATIS to be like real life, so sometimes they would be looking that up and not noticing you. If you do get a violation, you can explain you situation to the appeals team. In that case you very likely get it appealed.
