I went spotting in cold windy weather and got some great shots of the Vegas Strip and multiple arriving and departing aircraft at the terminal. Located at the top of Terminal One’s Employee Parking Garage is this spot that overlooks the entire west side of the airport.

@Kamryn currently staying at Bellagio (just for reference) and I have a fountain view, I see planes coming from the East going behind the flamingo hotel then make a left turn, usually they take off to avoid the lookout but landing to avoid the look out, as you can tell I’m very confused with this approach as it’s not to avoid the lookout as it’s very far from where they are, any reason for the last minute turn?

26 departures turn either left or right due to terrain.

1 Departures (like the ones in my photos) make a left / right turn 30 after clearing the Stratosphere to avoid Nellis AFB and North Las Vegas Airpott,

19 can be a regular straight out, same for 08.
