New York - Omaha | American Eagle E175 | Trip Report

My GPA

4.00 :muscle:
Departure Airport: LaGuardia Airport (LGA/KLGA)
Arrival Airport: Eppley Airfield (OMA/KOMA)
Aircraft: Embrear E175
Airline: American Eagle
Flight Time: 3:04
Server: Expert

I got a great view of my aircraft as I made my way to my gate, coming up the escalator from the Admiral’s Lounge, where I had been for a few hours, since I had gotten in from Bangor in the wee hours of the morning. The E175 that would take me to Omaha, N206NN, had gotten in from Des Moines that morning, and was being cleaned and catered as I approached.

I took my seat, the last one in First Class. We pushed back 4 minutes late, got our engines started, and taxied out to Runway 13 for departure

We had a bumpy initial climb, and made a big U-turn over the Long Island Sound to head West towards Nebraska

Shortly after reaching our cruising altitude of 36,000 feet, the flight attendants began their lunch service. I was a little worried they would have to skip it due to the rough air, but it went ahead as scheduled. My appetizer of choice was burrata cheese with oregano and capers. My main was a peppercorn crusted filet mignon, with chive -potato mousse, glazed French beans, and melted leeks. Since I’m not old enough, I declined the offer of alcohol and instead opted for an apple juice. Dessert was delicious - a brownie with Häagen-Dazs chocolate ice cream.

We had a great view of Chicago as we descended to 32,000, to avoid some rough air.

As we crossed into Iowa, the flight attendants came around with Biscoff cookies and drinks for everyone in first class.

I took a quick trip to the forward lavoratory before we began our final approach into Omaha. The captain warned that it might be a bit of a turbulent ride, so I made sure all my possessions were securely in my bag before sitting back down

As predicted, we were buffeted by chop all the way down to touchdown. Despite the bumps, the flight attendants were up and about the cabin, doing a final trash run.

Our final approach was full of wing dips and sudden jolts as we were tossed around by winds. Funnily enough, our approach into Nebraska’s largest city keeps us in Iowa until the last 1000 yards, when we pass over the Missouri River into the Cornhusker State

We had a rather firm touchdown, to be expected given the conditions. Our taxi in was very quick, and they had the jet bridge attached before I could even open the overhead bin. I got one last glimpse of our plane on the escalator down to baggage claim. All in all, a great experience in American Eagle First Class!

I really am not surprised
Your like a freaking genius aka nerd :stuck_out_tongue:

Also… Omaha = WWW
I love the 3d so much! It reminds me suspiciously of the old salt lake City airport which brings back so many memories

So much realism and details! Sounded like you were actually flying on that plane!

That’s probably true.

I would if I could… if I did, I think I’d get “disappeared”

Thank you sir! I learned from you bison.

Yess, Omaha has an extremely underrated airport! Super well modeled too, and a very robust route network all across the US.

I think you’re confusing American Airlines with Etihad’s residence. All jokes aside, loving you’re new S&V topics!
