Call me crazy, but I automatically set every topic I reply to to Watching. With this very basic context in mind, I couldn’t not see the new notification icon for topics set to Watching:
The idea is interesting, however there’s one major flaw with it: it looks way too similar to the New Topic icon:
Would it be possible to change it back to the old icon? I understand the idea, but it can become really confusing very quickly.

That’s precisely why I put it in #meta. I’m also in another Discourse forum with some different icons (which have been changed by the forum’s admins), therefore I know it can be changed back.
Yeah it confused me so much! It only happens to replies in threads you are watching tho so for now you can just track them instead and you get the normal reply like hadi
