Yeah it looks a bit better during the day for me, but the current recognizable livery is still far better than the new one. Why change something that’s already so recognizable drastically? They could’ve done something like EVA Air did. EVA Air changed their livery a few years ago but still kept the overall integrity and brand identity of the old livery.

Fortunately or unfortunately, depending on how you look at it, the 747s are going to be gone soon, so they likely won’t repaint them. I could see a few of the freighters getting repainted, though.
It’s a shame that the old feature request for the ‘pepsi’ B78X livery got closed in favor for this one
