New Formatting For Event and GroupFlights Titles

Hi all!

The #live:events and #live:groupflights categories are one of the most used on the forum. We have restrictions on posting and formatting requirements to make sure that it runs efficiently and is accessible to all. For several years now, the format has remained the same. Whilst it has served its purpose, it is perhaps a little complicated for users to understand.

From today, we will be introducing a new format. These will make titles easier to understand and will ensure the most important information is read first.

The new format is the following:

DDMONYY / HHMMZ - Title @ ICAO to ICAO

Details:

DD = Day
MON = Month
YY = Year

HH = Hours
MM = Minute
Z = Zulu

Title = Title of your event
ICAO = The 4 letter airport code of the airport your event is departing and arriving at (arrival not needed with certain events)

In written format:

Date Month Year / Hour Minute (Zulu) - Title @ Airport Code to Airport Code

Example

18APR20 / 1900Z - Good Old Times @ KNUC to KLAS

I think this is great! I remember seeing an old title that went something like “302030ZJAN20” and I legitimately couldn’t read it. Small things make a world of difference!

Hey Misha, do we have to change our currently posted events?

Wondering if at some point the year will be dropped. I keep on getting the date order wrong.

Yes that is fine.
