The new update introduced drone cameras that allow you to long press to hide the GUI, making it possible to capture cool shots similar to replay mode, but this time while in flight. In theory, this new feature seems great. However, it also appears to be flawed.
While on approach, I was using the interior cockpit view and setting up for landing. I did not request for the camera to hide the GUI, yet it still disappeared. A brief pop up appeared for a couple of seconds instructing me to long press to regain the GUI. I did exactly that, but the GUI did not reappear. This became an issue because I was manually decelerating using the speed brakes, and without the GUI where I could access my flight controls, I ultimately stalled, as shown in the video. This was my second attempt at retrying the approach (autopilot+ 30min before landing function), as the first attempt also resulted in a stall due to the same issue. In that instance, I was again using the interior camera, and the same problem occurred. Here is a video to show exactly what was going on. (I used the touch screen movement feature to show how I was pressing, while trying to troubleshoot.)
The new drone camera controls are slightly different from before, perhaps slightly unintuitive coming from the previous controls.
I think, at least this is how it work for me in drone/free cam, that you must tap and hold in the top half or the middle of the bottom half of the screen. If you hold on the bottom left/right of the screen (where you press and hold for movement in the drone cams) then it didn’t work for me. I’m not sure if that would fix your issue, perhaps it could work tho?
To me seems like they accidentally created more issues for them to fix I would highly advise to leave the drone cameras as they were before and just avoid these and future bugs for everyone’s sake
AGREE! The new drone cam is is way less convenient than it was in the previous builds, it can’t even move in replays, which feels like they just removed it entirely.
