Turboprops are slower that turbofans so that means less possible flughts and in a world where frequency rules, this won’t last long
Well Airbus got a lot of experience doing the A400M, and have ATR turboprops as a related company within the Airbus Group.
I would not be at all surprised to see the next gen narrow bodies as open rotor turboprops. Especially if they can be made as quiet and as fast as present day narrow bodies.
The engines are twice as large as that of the Q400
