Never seen this before

I was on Socal Approach for (KNUC) and I was told to hold position, right turns, do not exceed 230Kts. Am I suppose to follow this Purple circle on the minimap?

Interesting, I’ve never seen this either

Yes. It’s called a holding pattern, in this case you’d be making right turns while following the purple line.

How to fly a holding pattern

The controller put you in a holding pattern which they can draw the pattern for you to follow on the map.

Thankyou. I was just confused on what to do. Now I know. Thanks again ☺

Holding patterns are typically used when an airport is busy and want planes to circle around in a pattern until the airport has more space :) (not meant to be specifically for @dush19)

I’ve received one, it’s a holding point for you so you’re clear of conflicting traffic and known to the controller 👍🏼

Thankyou! I’m gonna read that.

No problem. They are usually used to help relieve the traffic load but we rarely use them in the Expert server. This appears to be a training server screenshot.

You clearly have never flown in a very congested airport 😂

Not that conjested I’m usually in Expert server.

It is in training Server.

Expert servers can get overcrowded as well, I got told to hold over KSAN yesterday.

I was flying in South Cali on Expert yesterday. I rarely go in TS1 anymore. I like trying to make Infinite Flight as realistic as possible

Yep, I gave up flying in TS1

I have, just they know not to put me in a holding pattern 😜

It’s just full of new players. And some trollers. Although I had a jet behind me on this flight. Escorting me or just tagging along.

I’ve seen it many times on flight radar 24 but never on IF. I think it’s for spacing or waiting until the airport quietens. I don’t know
