The game cannot run when I use Wi Fi network, even though I have changed several Wi Fi networks, it can still run normally when using data. I hope this problem can be solved.
Hey!
Please provide the model and OS version of your device, as well as your network provider(s).
Is the game loading at all?
Hello! I figure you’re in the PRC, meaning some features will most definitely be blocked by the Chinese firewall. I know this because I currently am in China as well and IF will only load if you have a cellular connection which bypasses the firewall. Using a VPN won’t help, it won’t even let you connect.
The only downside is that the cellular data (similarly the one data card I have which is from China Mobile Hong Kong CMHK) is rather slow, often not even reaching 1 Mbps (very slow), but surprisingly still enough to stay connected to Global Server and maintains 5G speeds.
If you attempt to load IF using cellular data but then switch to WiFi, it’s only a temporary solution since after a few minutes of entering a multiplayer server, you will lose connection to Global Server, however still be connected on the rest. So it’s best to stay with your mobile data.
If you have any other questions, I’m here, in mainland China and will help you. ![]()
Sometimes when I log in via cellular and then switch to WiFi I can connect to the global server successfully, but this is a probabilistic problem and not always works. However, if I do this I will not be able to load other people’s aircraft models.
You will gain temporary access to the Global Server, after a small period of time you will disconnect from it for a few - even several - minutes.
The issue is, when I arrived in China mid-July and played for the first time in like 2 years a week ago, the outages in Global Server were shorter and I could launch the game using WiFi.
Apparently China’s authorities have been actively working on blocking the specific game or restrict access to apps downloaded from…Google Play? I don’t really know, I’m not a permanent resident…
Correct, I don’t think the game can do anything to bypass a state-of-the-art firewall. I can’t even connect a VPN to any WiFi network. Terrifying.
My device is Iphone 12 pro,and it’s system is iOS18.5,my network producer is China Mobile
You can launch the game using China Mobile cellular data?
Yes,it can running normally when i use the 5G
Then I guess the firewall focused on restricting the game on WiFi, with which I can’t use most external applications. Not sure if there is any other difference other than I’m using CMHK and you use China Mobile. Basically the same thing.
I guess cellular data is your only resort, as far as I know. It’s not that bad unless you have a small data plan and love to waste your MB…
It costs about 1 GB for each flight while the game loads your scenery. So be prepared for a huge data eater!
This is how much my tablet used the last 2 weeks when I first got my data plan, haven’t done much, pretty sure at least 4 GB is from Infinite Flight.
I believe it’s not a GFW issue because I can connect to the game stably using the Wi-Fi in my school. In fact, I can only connect to IF without using a VPN.
I’m no expert, but could the firewall in schools be less strict since…children tend to search information up the internet? Not like blocking everything would help in any way…
If you are specifying school internet then I assume the house WiFi doesn’t work…or do you live in the school campus?
My house Wi-Fi does not work indeed but that’s because that Wi-Fi itself is bad, can’t even browse the web or play videos smoothly sometimes ![]()
I mean…here I have a WiFi router which runs on 800 Mbps but still will not connect me to a VPN but even without it I cannot open any external applications. My cellular doesn’t exceed 10 Mbps and sometimes not even 1 Mbps, yet I still manage to complete a flight fully connected.
Since I’ve heard about some AI usage in schools in China, perhaps that’s the reason it’s less restricted there? Unless the game is regionally restricted, as the province here (Hebei) really is a restricted area.
I have the same issue but I’m here in Egypt iP 13PM IOS 26 public beta
Home Network provider is WE (Telecom Egypt), and it disconnects every few seconds, but when I switch to 5G from the same provider, it works no problem. No, it doesn’t have anything to do with the public bet,a as I tried on my older device running IOS 18 and was running into the same issue
I don’t think Egypt has any restrictions, especially with a simulation game that doesn’t really…affect any government, it’s just a game of passion building. Must be an issue with your network (ping too high? speed too slow? router unstable?). My WiFi here is stable and speedy but still cannot load IF due to restrictions.
I don’t know, that’s the confusing part. I’ve tried on more than one router in different places, and all keep disconnecting on WIFI, and the only government restrictions we have are on some political stuff
