Hello, I recently became interested in creating a tool or website that would assist in making the simulator more realistic. Please let me know what your ideas are down below!
I would love to see a tool that tells us what gate to spawn at, and what gate to park at after landing. I don’t want to have to check FR24 and other tools to know what is the most realistic place to spawn at.
I’d also like to see a weather tool that tells us the expected winds throughout the various stages of the flight in ‘human language’ and not through some fancy chart. Windy and FPLtoIF’s weather chart, while great, aren’t useful enough. Would be awesome if you can do something in this space!
Thanks for the ideas @PocketRishi I will look into both of them and see what’s possible.
I’m not done yet.
The one thing I want most is a simple KML to IF FPL converter. By that I mean that you should be able to upload a KML file (that you get off FR24/LiveFlight) to some site and it then processes the KML into FPL coordinates that could be plugged into IF.
I think this tool will make it much easier for people to emulate IRL flights especially those that draw something in the air. I’m aware that Tyler has done something similar but it is not simple enough and maybe you can make it simpler.
I have suggestions, but its not gonna be an easy one 😅.
I use many different applications to support flights on IF, but have noticed that none are completely perfect and also its getting a little crowded in terms of actively used apps…
That’s why im thinking of making/having one big IF Companion App that has it all.
Thing that should be implemented in this Super IF app:
- LiveFlightApp (but with flight lines and updated
airplane images and terrain)
- IF PAX (Simulate pax on flights and satisfaction, in Landscape mode)
- IF Assist (Simulate Co-Pilot (call-outs, V-speeds, etc.)
- Flightplanner (Make flightplan+ convert for IF)
- Inbuild weather + Metar (pref. Windy)
- Gate maps (downloadable per airport or redirect to image)
- IF Speeds for T/O, climb, cruise, descend, Landing and taxi (based on the All Aircraft Takeoff and Landing Profiles (My New Topic, *Version 20.2, Wiki!))
- Active IFATC areas
I might think of more things later xD
But the idea is to have one Godmode app 🙌😇 that you can use for all your common IF business.
I understand this is quite much to ask for. But im more interested in knowing how realistic this is to build/have in the future. Maybe you could give it a brainstorm 😂🤯.
A tool where you can build your ATC request
rather than just having the “request taxi” feature, it would be a tool that would allow you to build your specific request step by step like “CESSNA 31LN- REQUEST TAXI TO RUNWAY 25R VIA TAXIWAY BRAVO, WITH INFORMATION ZULU”
the tool would allow you to customize ATC requests is what im saying :)
@Robertine unfortunately I don’t think that would be possible since Infinite Flight doesn’t allow any way to connect as far as ATC.
But, you can vote for it here
TCAS would be interesting…
Similar to Foreflight’s implementation, which calls out traffic with an aural warning.
@Jetcentric I will look into that as well
Any help in connecting joystick
Can u bring back the crew cabin announcement? It was missing:( and i like it so much
There’s already other people doing this. Thanks for the idea though
This works really well for that purpose, and is often forgotten about:
That reminds me, I do have a very simple tool for that already build, you upload the file and then it downloads the fpl file, it’s super simple to use and works very well. I’ll be releasing it soon.
Yup i dont see it
No, i mean the integrated system when you lauch the IF. the cabin crew announcement launch too. Like this hold on, look at the upper left there is from “safety” untill “thanks for flying” announcement
This image taken at 2019 while the " cabin crew announcement" still there… now the app missing and i hope you can bring back again.
Just one click and you can listen the crew. Also they have a lot of airlines like ANA, Garuda Indonesia, United Airlines, Etc.
I’d really love to see this!
I know that. People gonna loved this one. So easy and have a lot of features
