Near Miss at JFK

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A COMPLAINT! It’s a moment I thought was worth sharing!

I was taxiing to Runway 31L, cruising at a comfortable 20 knots (don’t say anything about my speed, we all cruise at 20-30 knots on the taxiway)

I was thinking the Air France would hold and let me through since I had right of way and I was also in HUD view so they were out of my view range as I was taxiing.

But then I switch from hud view to the outside camera and saw them right next to me, they hadn’t stopped. So I did some EVASIVE ACTIONS to avoid a crash.

My left wing almost touched them as I swerved hard right to avoid a collision (and potential kick from the server for taxing through another plane when I didn’t see them till the last second)

And then I continued on my way to Runway 31L without further issues and they followed me (safely this time.)

i just did the EGLL to KJFK route and was now doing the return route. KJFK to EGLL

Almost the plane callsign was AIR FRANCE 7.

@Shinkansen_Rail_Line remember, these things happen on all servers, casual to expert. But topics like these don’t help anyone. If you’d like to make a Screenshots and Videos topic about the near miss, documenting it or something like that, feel free to so long as you follow the rules for that category. But topics just complaining about users (which will not help because there will always be those users who aren’t paying attention) don’t help the community in a positive manner

How am i supposed to know who has right of way? ATC didn’t help, they didn’t clear them to taxi and I was already instructed to taxi.

So who had the true right of way?

I’m not complaining. If I was I would have stated so, I don’t like complain over small matters like this, I was just telling a story of a near miss. I wasn’t trying to complain. But if it sounds like it, then I’m sorry that it does.

FAA legality, you’re on the right so you had the right of way BUT, this is not real life and the FAA cant hurt you over here so next time just slow down to avoid having to drift your 747.

yes. had this been real life, you wont be taxiing at 20-30kts
