I had a Near miss on Runway 27 Right at London Heathrow on Landing while I was flying a Qantas 747 from Amman to Heathrow. Tower gave me clearance to land but after the Tower went offline, I almost had a situation with an A330. The A330 was landing 9 Left. I informed the Pilot of the Landing A330 and we settled it. Honestly, there needs to be a new feature for TCAS that warns us while in the air.

Correction… A Delta A350 almost came VERY close to my Aircraft in London. It was in the Training Server. Unfortunately, this happens almost all the time in a Training server. I almost had a Near Miss with an American A319 in Boston and The ATC wasn’t online. The Pilot of the A319 did not say that they were holding short. I had to cancel my takeoff using judgement and I made the right call. The Pilot has been informed and it will be settled. I hope…

This sadly happens too often at Schiphol…
Westbound deps from 36C, eastbound from 36L…
And to be fair, it’s not only the departures from 36L/C… I have a pretty strong feeling that some just don’t care about the operations at this airport, pilots or atc…

I’ve added a link here which shows the runway use at Schiphol and another one for free charts provided by Dutch VATSIM which also shows the correct taxi directions. Feel free to use it.

To add to the misbehaviour of some people, I’ll leave this here too, happened yesterday also at Schiphol on the expert server…

Not the way you want to finish a long haul.

1 problem is that not all controllers are locals. If you’re not a local, you probably don’t know the procedures very well. Yesterday I saw someone controlling who had 36L in the ATIS for landing…

As an AMS local, I’ve been trying to control AMS as much as possible often following the IRL runway usage (Actueel baangebruik Schiphol). I’d love to see other controllers also do this.

Gosh I’m hoping that there will be a NOTAM feature for ATC one day where I can instruct everyone to taxi right hand side instead of having to change everyones taxi instructions 😭

Flightradar is your best friend in that case. Free for everyone so why not use it?

Not only this but taxiing around 36C when it’s used would be nice too. All the traffic crossing W5 is unnecessary workload for atc… if in the worst case, 27 is used for departures and traffic comes to a stop at W5 and down taxiway C/D, you can’t use 27 anymore… I had too many situations where someone buzzed over my roof cause I had to stop right behind 27… not fun, especially when wearing headphones lol

That is why my ATIS almost always includes “Long taxi” cause if 36C is in use, I’m gonna be sending you all the way around 😏

You can maybe contact IFATC Supervisors and they can contact the controller more about it!

It’s either a full Polderbaan experience or nothing, no in between lol

Only exception there is to allow W5 crossings is when there’s no or minimum traffic using 18C/36C. Otherwise like said above; full Polderbaan experience. If your taxi time from the Polderbaan to the gate is less than 23 minutes, you go back and start again :D
