Hi everyone. I’ve been playing this game for many years now and thought it was about time I added some comments about things I reckon could improve it.
There’s a lot I love about this game, and a lot that works very well, but here are what I think are its shortcomings:
Airport graphics are pretty good but everything else is terrible (terrain/cities/weather/clouds etc…) why is this?
Speaking of which…smoke from tyres on landing - people have been asking for this for years now, is it ever going to happen?
Unrealistic approaches given by ATC. All these silly events result in far too many planes arriving and ATC issuing completely bonkers approaches holds that look like the web of a stoned spider.
What’s the point in having departure ATC when the response EVERY SINGLE TIME you ask for radar vectors somewhere is “unable at this time, please proceed as filed.”
What’s with the whiny high-pitched engine sounds, especially on take-off roll? Has whoever made that sound actually heard an aeroplane engine before? Same with reverse thrust.
Why is pushback so painfully slow, especially for larger jets? I get that they are a bit slower in reality, but this is pure agony. Also, why can’t the tugs pull the planes forward, like they do in - you know - the real world?
What’s with the 250 knot speed limit below 10,000ft? Not related to the real world at all. Shouldn’t speed be dictated by ATC (in controlled airports)?
Brakes seem a little too good sometimes, don’t you think?
Why does the A380 get airborne before the wings lift up?
Does anyone want to offer some answers, or add to the gripe list?
OK thanks, seems to be an American rule only, which I wasn’t aware of. Still, why can’t air traffic control direct planes to fly faster than 250kts below 10,000ft in this game?
Unlike in real life, Infinite Flight doesn’t allow for strict control over the flow of planes into a hub. This often results in too many planes attempting to land simultaneously, overwhelming airports that lack the runway capacity to handle such traffic. To manage this, controllers typically create larger traffic patterns, especially for airports with limited runways. While this may not always reflect real-world procedures, it’s usually done within reason to prevent the situation from becoming chaotic.
I’m not entirely sure why you’d be requesting radar vectors on departure. However, if you’re flying on an IFR flight plan, you should simply “check in” rather than requesting vectors as it’s typically outside of the coverage area.
But I mean, look at Microsoft flight simulator…why can’t it look like that? Is it because this game runs on a mobile device? (I don’t know much about tech, I’m making the observations).
I’m not very familiar with it either, so I’ll just quote someone else’s viewpoint. However, in reality, my iPad Pro M4 is prone to crashes at this stage. When it becomes as excellent as Flight Simulator 2020… I can’t imagine if the back of my iPad can cook an egg🤣
