My TWA Hotel Experience + Highlights

So, as I sit in my TWA Hotel room for the last few minutes before I check out, I thought it would be a great idea to share some of my experience here with other AvGeeks that may want to visit here.

First; The Pool and Observation Deck
This is definitely the standout for me. There is no better spot to view ramp action at JFK than here. You also have a great view of all runways. Phenomenal place to spot airplanes.

Second; The Room
I stayed in a Deluxe Double Queen with Runway View. And I will tell you right now, the view didn’t disappoint. My windows looked straight out onto the ramp and runway.

Third; Food
The food isn’t great, but you don’t go here for the food. You go for the experience.

Some of my highlights. (Yes, I took these with my phone. Please don’t judge. )

there was a video but for some reason I can’t upload it. If anyone wants to see the video, please DM me and I will find a way to send it to you.

Great photos! Wish they had a TWA hotel in St. Louis their biggest hub, but that didn’t happen.

Edit: You can really see how air travel is starting to pick back up :D

Thanks dude!

I had the time of my life. 👍👍👍👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻

Might as well give my experience to add to the topic (if that’s ok with you)

The entrance itself was a bit hard to find. I was coming from the AA terminal, so it was basically across the entire airport. Signage could be a bit better.

First place I went was the Constellation. They have some interesting things along the way to it like a retro luggage vehicle, and inside the plane itself there are some nice surprises which i won’t reveal so you can see for yourself. Overall it was an immersive and realistic experience, with staff being helpful and kind.

There are so many places inside the main area that I don’t know where to start…The complex is more expansive than it seems, so a full day or at least a few hours would be best for the full experience. Like I said before the signage could be a bit better, but there are so many things to see and experience that the element of surprise is welcome.

The roof deck is nice, it’s close to many planes and there were a nice variety where I was. I’d recommend a camera with good zoom for pictures/videos of aircraft further away than the two closest terminals. Also, it might have been the day I visited or seasonal weather but prepare for some strong winds up there.

Here’s a picture I got:

Thanks @AndrewWu

And finally, the food. It’s good imo, but the wait was a bit long IIRC. #firstworldproblems

Anyways, the TWA Hotel is a great place. I’d rate it a 9.5/10 because of accessibility and signage.

Yeah. I did an overnight stay, and totally loved it. I went from home, and put the address into my dad’s car’s navigation system, and I didn’t find it so hard to find. Thanks for your input!!

Glad to see you had a better experience than I. I went two weeks after it opened and they didn’t seem to be ready at all.

These aren’t the greatest pictures as I was relatively inexperienced at the time, but whatever.

Yeah. When I went yesterday, a lot of things weren’t open because is covid-19. Still, the main reason I went was the Observation deck and pool, and that didn’t disappoint.

The first one is sick!

Looks like a hotel I wouldn’t sleep at! if you get my drift 😂

Looks amazing!

Great shots my friend!

The windows are soundproof. It’s amazing.

Aww man lol. I would probably be one of the few who’s disappointed with that.

I purposely wouldn’t sleep because I’d just be planespotting the whole night.

lol, i can only imagine taking pictures like that when my camera is 1/10 the size of yours
