My Next Step in Aviation

Hello Infinite Flight Community Members,

I haven’t really posted about personal life but I would love to explain my new plans in Aviation. Currently, I am only a couple lessons from taking my practical for my ppl and waiting to take my written. While I was supposed to be done with these in the coming weeks, because my flight school isn’t an essential business, I am unable to finish until further notice. While I’m working around this, I am very happy to announce I will be attending Western Michigan University for a major in Flight Science and an undecided second major this coming fall (Given it is opened back up). Here, I will work to get my commercial license and hopefully work for a commercial airline or corporate airline. This decision was very hard for me as I applied to 8 schools and got into all 8 but I am very happy with my decision. I also want to make it so anyone looking for a college to go into flight has someone to help explain the schools and what the like. I visited all but one but I’ll state those colleges so if anyone students have questions, I would love to help! Stay safe everyone!

All the schools I applied and got into:

  1. Western Michigan University (Attending, visited twice)
  2. Purdue University (Visited twice)
  3. The Ohio State University (Visited once)
  4. University of North Dakota (Not Visited)
  5. University of Dubuque (Visited Once)
  6. Lewis University (Visited Once)
  7. Saint Louis University (Visited Once)
  8. Minnesota State University (Visited Once)

That’s so cool congrats I was supposed to start flight school last month but because of this I’m still waiting to start. I’m going into high school next year and I’m starting to think of colleges a little and I want to major in flight science at well. Want was your favorite college besides Michigan because I want to stay close to home by Chicago I know Michigan is close but I don’t want to go there not because it is a bad school but I don’t like Detroit much and I want to be close to a city so what schools would you suggest? Thanks.

Congratulations! I currently attend Purdue as an Aviation Management major and have enjoyed the experience thus far! While I can’t speak for Western Michigan, I’m aware of their well-known aviation program and wish you the best in your future endeavors!

For those who might be considering attending a college studying something aviation related, feel free to reach out, especially if you’re interested in Purdue. Boiler up!

Welcome to WMU! I’m a junior at Western, and I’m majoring in Flight Science and Aviation Management as well. If you have any questions about what it’s like on campus, what flight training is like here, etc, please let me know! :)

I actually really wanted to go to Purdue for a long time. Financially it wouldn’t of worked but I also didn’t get into the flight program but I did get into my second major option, flight management. That’s not what I wanted though. Purdue is a great school, I have friends there that we go see football games, and the program is amazing!

Congrats! I for one haven’t done flight school, still trying to get around to start ground school. But I have heard of the aviation program up in North Dakota, I know people that went there. Best of luck on your future endeavors, and have fun!
