My new LONGEST flight I've ever done

So I did my longest ever flight in Infinite Flight.
From Los Angeles to Singapore. My route took me 8,000 NM and took me 17 hours to do. (18 hours if you want to count the taxi times at the airports)

I really pushed my 747 this time. I made it to WSSS with only 1 and half hours of fuel remaining.

Also, here’s a video of me saving my flight at the last second during final approach into Singapore cause I forgot to disarm LNAV and it nearly send me to my death. That would have been 17 hours wasted..

I was so scared they’d make me do a go around but thankfully I made it down in one go.

Crazyyy!! I have done a 24hr flight (connecting flights)

My flight was done in one go.
But it’s awesome you did a 24 hour flight.

I ain’t no way I’m making that in a 747…
that’s over 8,000 NM and I barely made it to Singapore from Los Angeles.

You still had plenty of fuel there… tho i do reason.

HMMMM… I don’t know about that statement…

You could technically do it in IF. Depends on how you fly. What altitude do you normally cruise at when you’re at MTOW? Are you flying east or west?

I normally cruise at around 38,000 ft for any route longer than 1,500 NM. (Which every route) and anything below I’ll cruise at around 35,000 or 32,000.

Are you using flaps by chance? I’m curious how you would be flying efficiently at FL380 on an ultra long haul route.

No, I use flaps to get to cruising but I don’t use them in cruise, don’t they add drag?

ULH on a 747 without flaps is crazy. Flaps 10 massively improve performance.

Autopilot+ also saves a ridiculous amount of fuel.

Oh boy, you’d be right in the real world, unfortunately not the case for IF. It’s more of an “easter egg” as said by some (@AndrewWu) Test them. They help like @AvioesEJogos said.

So using flaps in cruise will help?

Why yes, my friend 👌

Do beware, its not on all aircraft. Aircrafts that benefit are: 747 Family, A320 Family (most visible on the A321), A330 Family, A340, Bombardier CRJ Family, A380(still), 787 Family, and the infamous 737 MAX (that plane’s a different breed I’ve never seen before).

I just tested them and holy crap my thrust level isn’t at 95% or fully slammed open anymore. It now sits at 80-88% and I sit much more level too.

This doesn’t make sense at all but I learned something new, Physics Engine cheating.
