I still don’t understand how using the AP+ helps with fuel conservation
It’s just a bug in the program code. When AP+ is in use, somehow fuel consumption is not calculated by the program as it should be. So after returning back to your flight, less fuel was burned than it should be. Thanks to this bug, I make regular flights from Heathrow to Sydney in an A350, still with load and passengers. When arriving at Sydney, I often even have to dump fuel, because I am still too heavy for autopilot ILS approach. But I fly mainly A350, this might not apply to some other aircraft, as I have read comments, where fuel consumption behaves different from my experience.
Cause of the Fuel glitch I tend to UNDER load my plane as by the time I arrive I’ll have gained 2 to 4 hours extra fuel.
I see that interesting hopefully the devs know
They are fully aware
easy, you set autopilot speed to slow and the throttle to be zero, and you immediately activate AP+.
In this case, your fuel can fly a very long flight
Never thought of that!
I’ve learned that trick. I’m thinking of doing a whole world flight. Like literally fly around the world in one go.
That’s not too hard, see posts above! You will love it
wdym? You can close out of the full app at least for me…
Well not for me, if I don’t put AP+ on before I close the app, it crashes my game and restarts my flight.
Ohhh that’s what you meant. My bad I thought you meant that even after activating AP+ that you shouldnt close the app fully or it will crash, but I see what you mean. Then yes you’re right you shouldn’t close out the app if you haven’t activated it yet ![]()
Yeah, or sometimes my plane will randomly crash into the ground or sea if I log off the app while my plane is still climbing.
Actually my longest trip was 44 hours and 28 Minutes. Equatorial flight from WSSS to Libreville, Gabun over Quito, Ecuador, where I had to land for a tank stop. With only fuel for 6 hours flight , I wouldn’t have made it back to WSSS over the Pacific Ocean.
I know, this is not a realistic flight, but I wanted to test several things: How much does the AP+ 'too much fuel"-glitch change over time of flight? How far could I get with an A350 maximum? How long is the Equator in IF, any difference to the real world in numbers? And so on.
Nothing what I regularly do.
I done something similar this March. I started at JFK and I ended up at Cancun after 33 hrs 52 min of flight in a Delta A350. Now I wanna try this again with AP+
Interesting. Idk what device you have but it never happened to me
I have the iPhone 15, not pro or max, just the standard model. They’re all the same phones anyway, only difference is a bigger screen and more cameras.
And I think the reason is I sometimes hit the AP button just as I log off so my plane has nothing to control it cause I swipe up to close apps using my right hand, and that’s near the AP controls.
Yeah, naturally, I do all my ultra-long haul using iPad air 4
