Introduction
As an aviation enthusiast and dedicated Infinite Flight Simulator user, I embarked on my most ambitious journey yet: a non-stop flight from London Heathrow Airport (EGLL) to Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (YSSY). This simulated flight not only tested my virtual piloting skills but also allowed me to virtually traverse the skies over 15 diverse countries. Here’s a recap of this extraordinary flight, from the technical details to the beautiful landscapes I “flew over.”
Pre-Flight Preparations
Aircraft Configuration
I chose the Airbus A380-800, renowned for its long-haul capabilities and luxurious design. With a full load capacity of 647,863 kg, my configuration included:
• Fuel: 254,131 kg
• Passengers: 583 (weighing 65,700 kg)
• Cargo: 51,402 kg
The aircraft was heavy, fully loaded for a long-haul flight. The mission? To efficiently use every drop of fuel for this 17+ hour journey.
The Journey Begins

With all pre-flight checks completed, I throttled the engines to take off from Heathrow’s bustling runway.
Cruising Altitude
The sheer weight of the A380 made the climb-out a thrilling experience, but soon we were cruising at FL300 (30,000 feet).

Crossing 15 Countries: A Scenic Virtual Tour
Here’s a breakdown of the countries we passed, along with some interesting facts:
Landing in Sydney
After over 17 hours in the air, I began my descent into Sydney Kingsford Smith Airport (YSSY). At 5:36 Zulu Time, I made a smooth landing on Runway 34L, with just 4% fuel remaining.
I taxied to Terminal 3, Bay 4, completing the journey.
Reflections
This journey was a landmark experience in my Infinite Flight Simulator career. Flying such a long distance with precise fuel management and navigation across 15 countries tested my skills and patience. The stunning virtual landscapes made it all worthwhile.
If you’re passionate about aviation and simulation, I highly recommend attempting a long-haul flight like this. It’s not just a flight; it’s an adventure!
