My journey form JFK to Cancun! [part 1]

Good day everyone, hope you are all well!

Today I flew on JetBlue’s A321 NEO to JFK to Cancun. The flight was about 3 hours and 45 minutes long. I would love to share some photos I took at JFK while waiting at my gate!

My beautiful A321 NEO parked at the gate!

My favorite JetBlue livery, i’m so glad IF added it!

What airline is this?

I wish I could share the videos of take-off and landing! If you want to see them don’t hesitate to DM me and I’ll be glad to share them.
I’ll definitely take more photos on my way back from Cancun in a few days!
Have a great day! Enjoy!

El Al. Israel flag carrier. This particular aircraft is a special livery called “Jerusalem of Gold”

Lovely aircraft! I’ve never seen it before!

El Al Israel Airlines. That’s the Star of David on the tail, one of the most prominent symbols of the Jewish people, Judaism and Israel as a whole. Also, that’s their Jerusalem of Gold livery. A normal El Al plane will look like this. This one was taken from the area leading to CBP at JFK’s T4.

The Jerusalem of Gold paint scheme is one I still want to see, so I’m actually kinda jealous you saw it so easily 😂

Nice pictures! I love that special livery on the El Al 787. A few weeks ago, that aircraft made a diversion to MSP (my home airport) due to a medical emergency. I did get to see that plane on final approach, which was sort of shocking. I recognized the 787 engine sound, but I thought it was probably KLM, so seeing an El Al jet was a nice suprise.

Do european airlines fly to minneapolis? I feel like Delta is the only airline there, I saw one land in Cancun yesterday.

Hi! Delta operates most of our European route (Paris, London, etc.), but we do also have Air France, KLM, Condor (summertime only), and Icelandair. Aer Lingus pulled out of Minneapolis when COVID hit, and never returned. Delta is planning on picking up the Minneapolis-Dublin route this summer.

It’s always fun to watch the Condor 767s come into Minneapolis. They fly out of Terminal 2, the much smaller, (mainly LCC) building, which has mostly 737s, so it looks really out of place at the gates!

In terms of domestic airlines, we have plenty! American, Delta, Allegiant, Alaska, United, Spirit, Sun Country, Denver Air Connection, Fronteir, JetBlue, and Southwest serve literally hundreds of cities on 3 continents from Minneapolis. Delta does dominate the traffic though, and are the only carrier that flies to Asia out of Minneapolis. They have Seoul and Tokyo from MSP right now, but may end up adding Shanghai or Bejing in the near future.

Hope this helps!
