My first time Planespotting! @VHHH

Hi, long time no see!

My exams are finally over, so I am back active again. Today I decided to pick up my camera to do some planespotting (for the first time) at my home airport Hong Kong International Airport VHHH. I can only planespot in South Perimeter Road (at the end of 07R), but can’t go to 07C, OR 07L, since the areas are restricted, and I don’t want to go to jail.
i really need to stop yapping and post the dang photos
Again this is my first time, pls dont judge me bruh, feel free to send suggestions hehe :)))

If anyone is curious, my cam is canon eos 600d. Thx, and enjoy the rest of your day

OH WOW THEY’RE SO SICK

much better than my shots, what lens do you have?

also about the last one, i thought airliners only landed on 07L/25R? how did you get such a closeup shot of that?!

Thanks!
I used 18-135mm lens
I basically was in the South Perimeter Road the whole time, and usually there are a lot of takeoffs (which I didn’t take cuz fence 💀) occasionally there was some landings so I got to take pic of the plane at such a close angle lol

WOW really? Pax planes landed on 07R?
I thought it was only Cargo planes!

I’ll go this Sunday to check out the landings there (I’ve never seen one irl)

bro your shots are like 10x better than mine even though I have a 350MM.

Remember, if you have Lightroom, you should turn on “Remove Chromatic aberration” as there are purple lines along the side of the plane

i.e. here on the tail

Damn, a 350mm lens is pretty impressive!
Thanks for your advice!

(btw only I took 1 passenger plane landing, others they are cargo planes, like the 747, and an Ethiopian 777 I didn’t post)

yeah
also you should check out scenic hill!

I use a Canon R8 with a 100-400 lens!

@if.vhhh just a quick note, remember fundamentals are more important than gear especially when starting out. @Arthur_C’s photos are great because he’s got the fundamentals down, not because his gear is carrying. Just keep this in mind before you start buying stuff hoping it’ll help you improve quickly because it generally does not work that way and I also kind of fell into this hole when I started spotting

Thanks for your advice! 🔥
I don’t randomly purchase new gear until i really need it
Besides its the skills and not the gear 👍

@AndrewWu is right, skills is way more important than the gear you have. I’ve being doing spotting for 6 years, I’ve learn a lot for knowledges throughout the journey. Beside of equipment, editing skills are also things you will be learning!
