My first spotting topic @KLAX

Greetings IFC.
During my summer break, I decided to go touch grass and spend some time spotting at LAX for the first time in months.

As a person who mostly records aircraft taking off and landing and seldomly takes photos of it, I’m no match for some professionals here such as Andrew or Butter so I will already gladly take the L. But, I did my best.

If I’m not busy, all of these photos will eventually be posted on my FlyTeam account; basically the Japanese version of JetPhotos where much of those strict screening rules do not existent and majority of the photos are accepted regardless whether its in poor quality or not.

Boeing 767-316(ER) | CC-CWF

Took this shot while still remembering that the 767 lost the rework battle. We need em’ pronto before these jets become extinct.

Airbus A350-941 | EI-IFD

First time capturing the “Born to be Sustainable” ITA Airways A350.

Boeing 787-10 Dreamliner | PH-BKG

The long 787 arriving from Amsterdam. Any Dutch people approve?

Airbus A321-253NX | N411AN

Very rare landing on RWY 25R. Originally headed for Kailua-Kona, the aircraft returned to Los Angeles for an unspecified reason and was escorted back to the gate by the fire trucks. It was later towed to the American Airlines hanger.

Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner | N845MD

This brand new AA Boeing 787-9 (not even a month old at this time) heading off to Chicago.

Boeing 777-323(ER) | N728AN

This 11-year-old AA Boeing 777-300(ER) heading to London. Much to my surprise, I discovered that I flew this aircraft 6 years ago from Haneda to Los Angeles!

Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner | N19951

Heading off to Newark.

Boeing 757-324 | N75854

Originally, the United 787-9 (image above) was taxiing from the left side of the image, and I was preparing to take a photo as it passed behind the 757. However, I didn’t see or hear the United 787-8 coming, and this is the shot I ended up with instead. Despite the 787 being completely out of focus, I’m quite happy with how it turned out.

Airbus A350-1041 | JA01WJ

This was the main reason why I decided to go to LAX. JAL began operating the A350 to LAX from Haneda on this day replacing the Boeing 777-300(ER) and several other spotters also gather at the Clutter’s Park just for this. Unfortunately, the A350-1000 red logo has been removed this August.

Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner | JA861J

Arriving from Tokyo Narita with JA01WJ turning for its gate at TBIT for the first time. Both of these aircraft were scheduled to arrive an hour ago, but they ended up arriving at the same time, which allowed me to get this shot.

These were 10 notable shots from that trip I wanted to share. Yes, I still consider myself as an amateur when it comes to taking aviation photos so any feedback is greatly appreciated.
