My close call

This incident took place at LAX at around 9:40 AM.

Today I was doing a short practice flight for my upcoming San Francisco to Beijing flight I thought I would do it at busy airport that had some traffic. So for those of you wondering this took place in training sever and ATC was present . it was foggy at the the time so we had a runway change my original assigned runway was supposed to be 25R but instead I got 7L .I was instructed by ATC for a immediate take off and I did so. I had no idea the A330neo was on Final on runway 25R and I don’t recall him make an announcement about his presents so at the time until I looked at the footage

This is why you always make sure to check for traffic on the runway and both finals even if you are cleared for takeoff. Partly the controller’s fault, however, you are the Pilot in Command. Another tool is to use the TCAS display or map which can help in foggy weather. Hopefully, this doesn’t occur again! Fly safely :)

Hey!

Like @Cooper_Marcukaitis said, you have got to get into a habit of checking for traffic. Whenever i fly out of ANY airport including regional small airports that no one flies out of, i always get into a habit of checking if there is any aircraft on final or on approach.
