My 10 Best Spotting Photos of 2018!

As the year of 2018 comes to a close,I though I would showcase my 10 best photos I took this year! They are in a ranking from 10th Place to 1st Place. I hope you enjoy them!

10th Place

Operator: Delta Air Lines
Aircraft: Airbus A330-223
Registration: N851NW
Taken at Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO/RJGG)

Comment: Well I just love Delta!

9th Place

Operator: Kalitta Air
Aircraft: Boeing 747-4H6(BCF)
Registration: N741CK
Taken at Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO/RJGG)

Comment: The Jumbos are slowly fading away. About 10 years back Nagoya would have been a quite large 747 magnet, but we only get freight 747s now.

8th Place

Operators: Southwest Airlines and Alaska Airlines
Aircraft: Boeing 737-800 and 737-990
Registrations: Alaska 737 is N315AS(thanks @Delta319 for pointing that out!) Taken at San Jose Norman Y. Mineta International Airport (SJC/KSJC)*

Comment: I just love the Alaska and Southwest liveries for a change, rather then the Japanese airlines at Nagoya.

7th Place

Operator: Lufthansa
Aircraft: Airbus A340-313
Registration: D-AIFD
Taken at Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO/RJGG)

Comment: Well I like how the grey blends in with the tarmac, and the reflection of the tail in the puddle.

6th Place

Operator: Asiana Airlines
Aircraft: Boeing 767-38E
Registration: HL7516
Taken at Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO/RJGG)

Comment: I love the Star Alliance livery.

5th Place

Operator: Southwest Airlines
Aircraft: Boeing 737
Registration: Unknown
Taken near Los Angeles International Airport(LAX/KLAX)

Comment: Passing by the Los Angeles skyline while on approach to LAX is so exciting!

4th Place

Operators: China Eastern Airlines(front),Japan Transocean Air(back)
Aircraft: Airbus A320-214(front),Boeing 737-8Q3(back)
Registrations: B-6371(front),JA04RK(back)
Taken at Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO/RJGG)

Comment: 2 special liveries, the China Eastern Airlines ‘Beautiful Gansu’ livery, and the JTA ‘Karate’ livery.

3rd Place 🥉

Operator: Japan Airlines
Aircraft: Boeing 787-8
Registration: JA821J
Taken at Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO/RJGG)

Comment: I always love flying the JAL 787 in IF,I think it’s a great and simple livery!

2nd Place 🥈

Operator: Volga-Dnepr Airlines
Aircraft: Antonov AN-124-100
Registration: RA-82077
Taken at Chubu Centrair International Airport (NGO/RJGG)

Comment: So I was REALLY surprised when this arrived from Guam, carrying heavy cargo. A serious spotter said that he couldn’t focus because of my squeals of excitement 😂

1st Place 🥇

Operators: US Navy Blue Angels
Aircraft: McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornets
Registrations: Unknown
Taken near Moffet Federal Airfield (NUQ/KNUQ)

Comment: The Blue Angels flew a formation flight with their smoke trails on! The thunder of the engines was a beautiful sound! You probably didn’t expect this photo, huh? I really liked this photo a lot!

Well I hope you enjoyed my photos, and I’ll be sure to get better, newer photos next year, along with 3 new airlines coming to Nagoya!

I wish you a Happy New Year, and let’s all hope that 2019 will be a better year for aviation!

Upon zooming in, it appears the Alaska Airlines is N315AS, a 737-990 (non-ER)

nice pics mate :)

Gonna take a good guess and say this is to/from CVG (there’s a RJGG to KCVG route that DHL does with the 747s).

Yup,you’re right! Arrived after a 13 hour flight! A second 747 actually landed minutes after that one from Hongy Kongy but I was already getting ready to go home.
